Dr. Andrés Petrasovits Fellowship in Cardiovascular Health Policy Research
The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC) and the CIHR Institute of
Circulatory and Respiratory Health (ICRH) are pleased to announce the
results of a special funding opportunity to build capacity in the area
of cardiovascular health policy research.
This special award was developed in memory of Dr. Andrés
Petrasovits, an eminent leader who devoted nearly three decades of his
life to cardiovascular health policy.
At present, Canada has a shortage of highly qualified research
personnel in this area in all regions of the country and in all
disciplines within the cardiovascular communities. Health policy is
increasingly relevant as a lever for the prevention and control of
chronic disease such as heart failure and other cardiovascular
illnesses.
This partnership will support one fellowship award, valued at
$70,000 per year for three years in the area of cardiovascular health
policy research as it relates to the prevention and control of
cardiovascular disease.
