Grants-In-Aid




Approximately $28 million is provided annually through provincial Heart and Stroke Foundations to support research operating costs through Grants-in-Aid. These costs may include laboratory supplies, technicians, and some equipment.

Research is supported across the four health research themes:
  1. basic biomedical
  2. clinical
  3. health services and health systems
  4. health of populations
Applications are accepted annually on September 1 and must be received by 16:00 EDT on the deadline date. If the deadline falls on a weekend or statutory holiday, the application must be received by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada by 16:00 EDT on the previous Friday.
