The Canadian Stroke Network, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the CIHR Institute of Circulatory and Respiratory Health and the fund/Rx&D Program along with AstraZeneca Canada are pleased to announce the results of the Focus on Stroke training initiative. This is the second Focus on Stroke competition.
This special competition was launched to increase capacity for stroke research in Canada and to address the shortage of highly qualified personnel working in this important area. This initiative provided new funding opportunities for training through Doctoral Research Awards, Postdoctoral Fellowships, and New Investigator Awards in the field of stroke. Overall, this initiative represents an investment of over $3 million over 5 years.
