Federation Research Fund Opportunities

One of the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC)’s most significant research initiatives in recent years is the creation and successful implementation of the Federation Research Fund.

The Fund was created to capitalize on opportunities to fund multidisciplinary, multi-centre strategic research in partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and other funding agencies.

In a few short years, the Fund has become an important part of the Foundation’s overall contribution to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular research in Canada. Thirty-five initiatives, valued collectively at approximately $20 million, have been supported since September 2001.

The Federation Research Fund supports research in three strategic areas:
  1. Obesity
  2. Stroke
  3. Resuscitation
