The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario (HSFO) is committing $2 million dollars to cardio/cerebrovascular (CCVD) research in Ontario through a new Endowed Chair in Population Health Research.
This funding announcement highlights the Foundation's strategic commitment to make incremental investments toward enhancing later pillar research capacity and impact.
The Endowed Chair competition is open to all Ontario universities, hospitals and research institutes. The mandate of the Chair includes mentorship for trainees in later-pillar research, knowledge transfer and exchange, and the creation of a virtual collaborative network for population health research in Ontario.
Applications are due Monday, June 2, 2008 and complete application requirements are available in the terms of reference.
