About Peer Review

Peer review is the cornerstone of the Heart and Stroke Foundation's research funding. Supporting excellence is the underlying value of the Foundation and the peer review process ensures optimal use of donor dollars.

The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada's peer review process engages well over 1000 researchers nationally and internationally and includes 125 members of the Scientific Review Committee. The Scientific Review Committee comprises 11 separate panels that ensure in-depth knowledge and expertise in all areas of heart disease and stroke.

The Scientific Review Committee (SRC) reviews all grant and personnel applications submitted to the HSFC.
